School.

Another school year begins! I can't believe this is my 6th school year!! YIKES! And we were off to a rough start! After the first day we were able to take a day off thanks to Tropical Storm Fay! It was a gift for me - I truly enjoyed the break, but unfortunately it's been devastating to others. She stayed a lot longer than anyone thought and some people are experiencing some serious flooding. We were back in school on Wednesday however with no damage in our area. Daniel and I are safe and sound! And now the first week of school is OVER! I would usually be inclined to say that this year will be a piece of cake except for the one tiny little thing called SEMINARY!! It has been going quite well... I have an amazing class - the kids are great. BUT I'm getting up at 4:30 only to spend 10 HOURS at work! That is depressing. I've just decided that it must be my lot in life to be continually challenged. Anyhow, due to work, my blogging may slow down but I will try to post semi-regularly - hoping for the slight chance that anything exciting may occur. And as always, I look forward to next Monday - Labor Day! - and my first check-off point of the year!

Going, Going, Back, Back, to Cali, Cali...

We spent a week in Long Beach visiting my family this summer and it was WONDERFUL!! We played golf, went out to eat, played games, had a party at my Aunt Sandee's, played Wii, and just spent some quality time together. I loved every minute! Here is a sampling of some of the pictures...

Me and Hallee and Jake!

Nate and Dara's family

One of my personal favorites with Sam and Jeff.

And here is the sampling of the family fun!

The Great Salt Lake

We were lucky enough this summer, again, to stop in Salt Lake City to visit Jacob & Tiffany and their kids before we flew into California to see my family.

The first night we were there we watched an amazing neighborhood fireworks show in honor of Pioneer Day! (Only in Utah!)

Daniel and I at the show

Daniel and the boys, Willbo and Sam

And here, Daniel and Anna

Saturday morning we enjoyed a neighborhood party where the kids decorated their bikes and then got soaked by a firetrucks hose. They loved it!

We were also able to see my brother, Jeff, who was currently in Provo. He met us in Midway where we stayed a couple nights in Jake and Tif's cabin.

The four played a mad game of frisbee golf. The documentation is below.

TERRIFYING!

Last night I let Jesse in the house for awhile and I already had the gate up so when I went to put her out I let her out through the door in the pool bath, which is the dog's room. By the way, we never use that door. As I walk out with her I also walk through a spider web. I mean full faced through the web. I did the most horrific dance trying to get the web and any spiders that might now be on me off of me. When I turned around to see what I had walked through - this spider was staring me straight in the face. It's the biggest spider I have ever seen. Have you ever seen anything like it? I certainly have not. DISGUSTING!

Daytona Beach

Daniel got suckered into one of those timeshare deals where they give a smokin' deal on a couple nights stay at the beach IF you go to their 90 minute presentation. It was worth it! We had a couple relaxing days on the beach. We ate out and ate in, went to the beach, the pool, the movies and just enjoyed each other.
