1st Grade Wild Florida Field Trip

Is it kind of funny that Benny's first field trip ever is to Wild Florida? He didn't take any last year in kindergarten because of Covid and the 1st grade field trip is to Wild Florida! And of course it was while Daniel was in Texas with Ivy so he couldn't even have his dad captain the boat! But we had a really fun time anyway!! (Even if we did get in trouble for holding the baby goats!)

Texas Turkey Hunt!

Daniel took Ivy to Texas in April for a turkey hunt!! It was such a fun trip for Ivy because she had a few of her best cousins there! They had the best time! And.... Ivy shot a turkey!!

Airport pictures of all the soon-to-be-hunters! Affectionately named "Lone Star Limb Shakers"

Texas wasn't the only place turkeys were being hunted!! We had some diligent turkey hunters here at home for awhile. And Jackson was successful too!!

Road Trip to Charlotte, NC

I went on a road trip!! It was a very quick trip... drove up to Charlotte, NC on Friday, stayed Saturday, drove home Sunday. But it was an absolute blast!!
I've been working out with Brittany, Aly and Sheri in the mornings for several years now. Sheri's daughter, Lindsay, just opened up an adorable and delicious Soda Shop up in Charlotte called Sips 'N Dips and we decided, since it was right around Britt's birthday, that we would take a fun girl's road trip for the Grand Opening to celebrate!! It truly was so much fun!! A car ride for several hours with your best friends, chatting, laughing, snoozing, not wrangling children... it was a dream. We enjoyed dinner at Lindsay's that evening and stayed up late chatting and putting stickers on cups. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning, went on a nice leisure walk before the festivities and then rode out the whole afternoon and evening at Sip's N Dips drinking way too many sodas and eating lots of treats. It was such a fun day! We enjoyed another delicious breakfast at Linsday's the next morning (she was the most amazing hostess at perhaps the busiest and most stressful time in her life!) and we headed home late Sunday morning! Didn't get home until late but we had a wonderful drive home, listening to some of General Conference and just enjoying the kid-free time away!
