Our Summer Trip to Duck Key 2019

This was one of the best family vacations we've ever been on. And there are so many pictures in this post... of so many fish!! We stayed in a little duplex on Duck Key this time. The duplex was very nice. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and living room. Very clean, very roomy, very comfortable. We had our own little pool and we were right on the canal where we were able to park our boat and fish galore!! The place had an ice machine, a grill, comfortable outdoor seating, just about anything you can dream of. Duck Key is also conveniently located near Marathon so church and dining weren't far!! We enjoyed everything about our trip!
(Because there are so many pictures, I'm not going to even try to organize them)

We drove down on Saturday and then went to dinner once we put the boat in and got ourselves unpacked. We grocery shopped knowing we could make dinner most nights (and eat fresh fish!!) The next day we attended the Marathon branch church service and then went for a leisure boat ride. The rest of the time we were fishing, swimming, snorkeling, deep dropping, resting, reading, snacking, eating and enjoying life!!

On our way home from church this boy wanted a picture with the big fish!
The canals through Duck Key were so pretty and we enjoyed all of the huge beautiful boats and houses.
I think our favorite fishing was with our deep drop. We pulled up huge tile fish and grouper every single time!! It was so exciting reeling that thing up, not knowing what we were going to find on the other end!! Always something huge!!

 My twins1

Always something to look out in the canal. We would throw a chum bag down and we couldn't pull fish out fast enough!!

Catching some dolphin on the boat!!

Just a leisure nap on the drive in.

Another one of my favorite fishing moments was in the evening. We landed on a yellow tailed snapper spot and the kids were pulling fish out left and right. Often, they each had one on at the same time!

 This was a fun catch!!!

With so many fish, comes a whole lot of fileting!! (So much fileting!!) I've never been one to clean the fish but I couldn't possibly let Daniel do it all!! We even gave Jackson a lesson!!
Here are some pictures of the pool and backyard area. It was so beautiful.
This place was recommended a few times over and it was absolutely delicious!!

Daniel and Jackson took an early morning fishing trip one  morning and had a lot of success! I enjoyed sleeping in, watching Benny and Ivy swim and reading my book!

Ivy snapped some pictures of us hard at work!!

 Shark bait!!

Micky D's stop on the long ride home after our trip was over. It was a sad departure!!!
