The Grand Bahamas

We planned another trip to the Bahamas. Our last one was less than stellar, so Shanda and I were a little skeptical but were willing to give it another go (on the conditions that we approve the accommodations this time). Well, it did not disappoint!! We traveled with Jordan and Shanda on our boat and Ryan came on his boat with Jamison, Maddie and Caroline, with Jamison's friend Reese as well. It was a fun group and we had an excellent time!

We started the trip in typical boat-travel fashion... a flat tire on the trailer. This happens every. single. trip. so didn't put us too far behind at all. The boys know exactly what to do and we were well on our way in no time!!
Just a little girls selfie on the side of the road...
We drove to Lake Worth (about 2 hours south-east of St. Cloud) and crossed over to the Bahamas from there. Unfortunately, what should have been a 2 hour boat ride ended up being 4 due to the seas... they were not very calm so it slowed us down and threw a lot of water on us. After about an hour we stopped because the boys saw some "schoolies" and threw their poles out. We were very discouraged to learn we were only 1/4 of the way there. But we carried on and eventually made it (with an unfortunate sunburn on the side of my leg that was unknowingly exposed as I hid under a towel from the sea spray that was constantly hitting me). Alas.... landfall....
The view from our room made everything  right again!!!
The next morning the boys left early on the boats to fish and the girls slept in and then enjoyed a leisure bike ride around the island!!
Since we got a late start, we missed the boys when they came back for lunch so they headed back out and we relaxed by the pool and beachside with snacks and books.... dreamy!!
The fishing grounds were very close to our island and so we all went back out on an evening fishing trip and it was so nice!! The weather was beautiful and the fish were biting!!
The boys biggest catch from the day.
The next day the boys headed out early again and so the girls slept in and then decided to go out and do a little snorkeling! The water was so beautiful just off the beach outside our room.  We saw a few fish, lots of sand dollars and conch but the best finds were a big, beautiful sting ray, a sea turtle and then this beautiful star fish!!! Lucky Maddie had her go-pro!!
This time when the boys came back for lunch we left with them for the afternoon fishing trip. They did some spear fishing and we did some deep dropping and we caught plenty!!
Cutest captain on the deep drop... what will we possibly be bringing up... ??? It's so exciting!!
A Queenie!! (no filter on these pictures... Can you believe the blue?)
Here is the group with our days catch!
We enjoyed dinner at the resort that evening. Very delicious.
Our last morning and Daniel thought he was funny making early morning wake up calls.
And just like that... we were headed home!! This trip was a million times better!! We absolutely loved it!! So we decided to go back and take the kids next time!! Our trip back over to Florida was perfect... smooth as could be and 2 hours.

Benny's End of School Year Pictures

Benny's classroom this year hatched baby chicks!! Got this cute pic from his teacher.
Here is Benny with a couple of his school friends, Nash and Jennings.
By the skin of his teeth and the very last week possible, this kiddo passed off all of his kindergarten sight words and made it to the Principles Hall of Fame!! This is at their pizza party with his teacher, Ms. Porter and the principle, Ms. Davenport.
Some of the parents went in on a group gift for Ms. Porter at the end of the year and here they are with her and all her spoil! Although the year had plenty ups and downs it was a success!

Wild Florida Visits Harmony Community

With Covid this school year there have been no field trips. Such a bummer. The kids missed some really fun activities. But at the end of the year, the administration allowed a few Wild Florida crew members to bring some "friends" from Wild Florida and walk around to each of the classrooms to say hi. The kids thought it was super fun to have their dad come around with Fluffy the Gator and friends. Here they are with their teachers, too!

The Golden Birthday

This beauty turned 10 on May 10th! We celebrated all week long! Here is our traditional birthday hat picture in bed! She opted to skip school and I made her crepes for breakfast.
Here she is with her birthday banner and balloons.
We started off getting our nails done. She picked a fancy white with rainbow glitter. So cute. Next we went up to the Loop to do some shopping. She picked out a few shower gels from Bath & Body Works and then we met up with Grandma Vicky for lunch at Noodles. After lunch we continued shopping at Five Below, Famous Footwear and then the Dollar Tree. All very successful.

For dinner she thought we were taking her to Village Inn (her 2nd choice) but ended up taking her to Texas de Brazil (her 1st choice) and we enjoyed a delicious dinner together!

Afterwards we came home and had pumpkin pie (homemade because you can't really find pumpkin pie anywhere in May!) and called it a night!!
Friday of that week we partied with friends and cousins. She wanted to go tubing so we recruited the help of a couple uncles and took a slew of girls out tubing! Pizza, chips, fruit, soda, and brownie bites for dinner and at the end of the day all this girls birthday dreams came true. Which is what I live for.  Happiest birthday darling Ivy girl, you are everything a mother could want in a daughter.
