House Progress in February

Things are ticking along at the house!!We came back from Mexico to having our garage doors installed! The mason has started doing the brick on the exterior... it looks soooo pretty!! I had to decide on interior paint colors (that's a real optical illusion!) And our pool plumbing and pool tile was done!

Out with the old.... in with the semi-new

My minivan has been really good to us. I've had her for 8 years and I have loved her. But Daniel insisted we not put another "dime" into her and she was in need of a timing belt and was leaking a little oil because of a cracked oil pan gasket. Anyhow, it felt like the right time and we started the search!! It didn't take too long and we found a slightly used 2019 Ford Expedition that we loved. She's roomy, will pull the boat and we all love her!! She's not quite as economical as the van (I do not like filling her up!) but she has a lot of fun bells and whistles! The kids love her!

Mexico 2022

Daniel's parents treated all of the adults to a trip to Mexico this year. This is the 3rd time they've done it (we missed last year because of Covid and barely got in 2020 before Covid hit). We were in Cozumel this year and it was so so fun. The past couple times we've been busy with lots of excursions but this go around we spent a lot of time on the beach relaxing. It was really nice. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and we had a really fun time!! Here are some of the highlights:
Mode of transportation... planes, taxies and Jeeps!

Some places in Mexico had a mask mandate and when we didn't have one ourselves, they provided one for us. It was basically a square of toilet paper with elastic strung through it. The most ridiculous mask I've ever seen. Luckily it protected us from getting Covid though!
Lots of pictures with my honey-bunny - around town, at breakfast, on the beach in the hammock, walking the beach, at our devotional, and horseback riding.

Our hotel was really nice. It included a very delicious breakfast which we ate at every morning. We usually had lunch of ceviche and guacamole or nachos or quesadillas on the beach and then met up in the evenings to go out to dinner all together.
The one excursion I went on was horseback riding! It was so much fun!! The trail was very pretty and the horses (mine especially, Wolf) were so smart. We rode to a cenote which was not very impressive at all but interesting. Daniel's horse was pretty nasty and earned the name of "Cold Face Killer" I personally saw him bite 3 different horses... one being my own!!
We spent a lot of time beach side, playing spikeball or paddleball or just resting, reading or snorkeling.
Daniel's parents put on a devotional for us one night. They told us some things they wanted us to know. It was a wonderful evening of feeling the spirit and listening to one another's input on how to be better parents and better people.
A few of the nights we were able to play games and we even had a pre-bed yoga session! It was hilarious watching Daniel do yoga!! We enjoyed a little beach yoga session as well. It's nice that Tiff is a certified yoga instruction!!
We really did have a great time but of course I missed my babies!! This was the longest we'd been away from them... 5 nights. Maddie watched them the first half and Emree had them the second half. They had a great time while we were gone and we enjoyed getting picture updates of them on horses or at the park or getting McDonalds!
