So let me give you a little backstory here. First of all, it's been about a year and a half since we lost Sandy. The kids have really been wanting a dog but they are just so much work I haven't been ready (and to be completely honest, I don't really even feel ready now.) However, a culmination of events have led to our current state... which is having another dog!!
Daniel spent a week in the Keys 2 weeks before our family trip with his brothers for the mini-lobster season. While he was there, a family staying in the same complex had a rat terrier that Daniel just fell in love with. Since his return he has been diligently looking for rat terriers in Florida. He had his eye on a couple of dogs but when his brother's family added a new French bulldog puppy to their family it pushed him over the edge. He found one he liked (2 hours away) and when a series of events led him to have to pick up culverts for work near the area he had located this dog, apparently he took it as a sign we were to own it and VOILA! We have ourselves a new dog!!
Daniel and the kids are in absolute heaven and frankly, I am too!! He is the cutest, sweetest, lovingest, mild mannered (but fun and playful) pup you've ever met!! Granted it has only been a week and a half but we are smitten with this little guy and think he's going to be a perfect fit for our family.
Here's to potty training one more time.... why not!?
