The rest of August

The rest of the month of August was filled with school (lots of pictures sent home by their teachers, which I love), a visit from the JN Munns family, some playdates and the start of our Fun Fridays! Benny doesn't have school Friday so I've designated it our fun day. With a couple of friends, we get together and do something fun!! More posting of that to come!

Will makes an excellent babysitter.

 Busted lip!!
Ivy loves school and Wednesdays they do science experiments. She's quite the scientist!

Back to the zoo for Fun Friday!

Benny Starts School

This kiddo attended his open house the Friday before he started school on Monday. We had a great time meeting his teacher and getting familiar with his new classroom. He is the handsomest
Haircut for the kid before school starts!!
And here he is!! First day of preschool!!

This year he is the purple door!!
 At his seat!!

Back to School!!!

Shortly after our return home from the Keys, it was back to school!! Kids first day was August 12th. Jackson has Ms. Benken and Ms. Gamble. Ivy has Ms. Douglas and Ms. Moon. Open house went smoothly and the kids were excited after meeting their teachers. First day went off without a hitch!! I barely was able to snap a picture of Ivy as she walked into class and Jackson insisted he could get to class on his own just fine. Wasn't very happy about the picture we took together in the hall and I was dealing with a very grumpy 4 year old as well. Here's to a great new year!!

Second day of school picture!!
Ivy got her hair cut right before school started. It looks so so cute.
The only picture I snapped of the kids at their open house.

Our Summer Trip to Duck Key 2019

This was one of the best family vacations we've ever been on. And there are so many pictures in this post... of so many fish!! We stayed in a little duplex on Duck Key this time. The duplex was very nice. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and living room. Very clean, very roomy, very comfortable. We had our own little pool and we were right on the canal where we were able to park our boat and fish galore!! The place had an ice machine, a grill, comfortable outdoor seating, just about anything you can dream of. Duck Key is also conveniently located near Marathon so church and dining weren't far!! We enjoyed everything about our trip!
(Because there are so many pictures, I'm not going to even try to organize them)

We drove down on Saturday and then went to dinner once we put the boat in and got ourselves unpacked. We grocery shopped knowing we could make dinner most nights (and eat fresh fish!!) The next day we attended the Marathon branch church service and then went for a leisure boat ride. The rest of the time we were fishing, swimming, snorkeling, deep dropping, resting, reading, snacking, eating and enjoying life!!

On our way home from church this boy wanted a picture with the big fish!
The canals through Duck Key were so pretty and we enjoyed all of the huge beautiful boats and houses.
I think our favorite fishing was with our deep drop. We pulled up huge tile fish and grouper every single time!! It was so exciting reeling that thing up, not knowing what we were going to find on the other end!! Always something huge!!

 My twins1

Always something to look out in the canal. We would throw a chum bag down and we couldn't pull fish out fast enough!!

Catching some dolphin on the boat!!

Just a leisure nap on the drive in.

Another one of my favorite fishing moments was in the evening. We landed on a yellow tailed snapper spot and the kids were pulling fish out left and right. Often, they each had one on at the same time!

 This was a fun catch!!!

With so many fish, comes a whole lot of fileting!! (So much fileting!!) I've never been one to clean the fish but I couldn't possibly let Daniel do it all!! We even gave Jackson a lesson!!
Here are some pictures of the pool and backyard area. It was so beautiful.
This place was recommended a few times over and it was absolutely delicious!!

Daniel and Jackson took an early morning fishing trip one  morning and had a lot of success! I enjoyed sleeping in, watching Benny and Ivy swim and reading my book!

Ivy snapped some pictures of us hard at work!!

 Shark bait!!

Micky D's stop on the long ride home after our trip was over. It was a sad departure!!!
