We had a big night-before-school-starts dinner and invited the grandparents and Lizzie, James and Sarah who also happened to be around. The guest of honor? GINNY!!!

Love having the missionaries over! These 2 specifically, Elder Cash and Elder Freeman, were particularly good with the kids. They even invited Benny to sit with them one Sunday when he was being a little too rowdy and he got right up and sat with them!! It was awesome. 

Jackson started the year off with a girlfriend!! Kind of new territory for us, and it was pretty short lived, but a real hard shove into high school life. 

Back to the grind...

This kids started early morning seminary. Needless to say.... he's tired.

Double Rainbow

This double rainbow was pretty epic. The pictures hardly do it justice but it was pretty remarkable. I love how the pool made it appear as a full circle. 

Jackson's Football Season

The beginning of August brough intense football practices everyday leading up to school. They didn't make cuts so Jackson automatically made the JV squad... but there were 75 of them! That meant a real fight for playing time! He worked really hard and got a bit of playing time here and there (when the weather wasn't ruining our schedule). Will be a fun 4 years watching this kid play!

#58 here in the practice jersey but he was #55 for the season.

First Day of School Pictures

First day back was August 10th this year. This is the first year of having a child in each school... high school, middle school and elementary. Jackson was the first off at 7:00, followed by Benny at 8:00 and then Ivy at 9:00. Since they didn't overlap I didn't get any pictures of them together. It made the morning quiet, though, and pretty smooth. It's nice having 1-on-1 time with each of the kids each morning. 

Family Movie Night

We hit the movies before school started. I think we saw the Meg 2... Benny was dying to see it. It was pretty awful but it was fun being together. 

End of Summer Church Activity

We hosted the last church youth activity at our house this summer. Swimming, fishing, basketball, pickleball, corn hole... whatever you could find! Kids had a blast!

High School Football

The very last day of July was the high school football kick-off camp. Boys spent the night in the library and started practice at midnight! A parent took some pictures and posted them on the parents football facebook page and we caught our boy in a few of them! Here's to the start of the season!

 

Miscellaneous July Pictures

Our dear Sister Bright passed away. We will always have fond memories of our visits with her... and the bottles of root beer she always had on hand for the kids. Daniel and Jackson weren't able to attend her services but Ivy, Benny and I went.

Nestled in the month of July were visits from various cousins out west. Which made perfect lake and beach days!

And a trip to Wild Florida for fun! Swamp slushies for the win.
