For the past several years I have participated in the Girls Camp with the youth in my church. Well this year I happen to be in charge of it!! It was a little different because we had some Covid rules to follow (like, no over night sleeping, no driving in cars together, etc...) so it was quite modified but I believe it accomplished the same purpose and it was so much fun!!
First day, early morning lakeside yoga session.
Yoga was followed by breakfast and devotional and then we had a super fun lake day!! Boating, tubing, wake surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, paddle ball and corn hole! The girls had a blast!! A very successful first day of camp!
The 2nd day we met at the Lake Lizzie Conservation Trail for a 3.5 mile hike... complete with camp songs, "snake bites," "sprained ankles," and "heat exhaust." The YCL's (youth camp leaders) did an awesome job at training the girls and the trail was so enjoyable.
After the hike we had lunch, our devotional and then the girls painted for their craft.
We had 1 mile to hike out and we did a color run... probably the favorite of the day!!
That night I had the YCL's at my house to do the awards... late night Wawa run was necessary.
The final day of camp was our campfire night. We learned how to start a fire and cooked tin foil dinners on the coals. We had skits. We had an awesome devotional/fireside/testimony meeting. We roasted s'mores, had awards and played night games. I'd call camp a huge success!! Covid can't stop us!!
