This spring season has been soooo nice! All 3 kids wanted to play flag football and their practices and games are all on the same nights in the same place!! I've been spending a lot of time at the football fields but it's been better than running all around to soccer and softball and football like the crazy mom I was last year!!
This season has been really nice. Benny had the same coach from last season which is the coach that coached Jackson a few years ago that we love. He's so great and Benny had a really fun season with him. Their final record was 3-5 which doesn't look great but most of their games were pretty darn close and a couple of their wins were from the top seeded teams so it really was a good season. They didn't make it to playoffs but Benny doesn't really care quite yet. He had a pick-6 this season, pulled some great flags and was a happy camper.
Ivy's season has been phenomenal!! First day of practice her coach said that he coached last year, didn't win a single game, but the kids had fun and he's just out to have a good time!! Well, that's exactly what they've done.... had a REALLY good time... because they are awesome!! Ivy is the quarterback and she has done a great job!! They have some really good little players on their team and they get along so well it has been the most fun season to watch!! They headed into the playoffs in 2nd place out of 8 teams having lost to the #1 team only by extra points!! Unfortunately, they lost in the first playoff game. We weren't too upset by it because had we won and went to the championship game we would have missed it (we were in Ireland by then). It truly was such a great, fun season... but let me tell you, having a child as the quarterback is the most stressful way to watch a game!!! Serious nerves for my baby girl in the stands!
Jackson played up in the 13-15 league this year and his season has gone okay. He's done really great! I've been really impressed with his speed and he can pull flags like a boss... but it's nothing like tackle and that is what he really likes. It will be good to see him back in pads in the fall.
