Mom... This Buster's for you!

Shockingly- My mom is taking one of our puppies! I promised her weeks ago I'd post some pictures of Buster and low and behold, I have done nothing of the sort. So here they are now... the pictures are old, too. He's much bigger now and very smart... he has only had a couple accidents in the house, he gets along with all of our dogs - even Cocoa - and we will be sad to see him go. I must admit, I'm a little attached. Sorry the picture quality is poor... I should have had my flash on. But he's pretty darn cute!

All Gone!! (sniff, sniff...)

All of our puppies are gone!! We have one left at our house but he is spoken for. It was such a fun experience having puppies! And I cried when they left! Here are some of my favorites to remember them by!

One at a Time...

Clearly you can see I'm WAY behind in my posts. I've had good intentions and actually LOTS of pictures waiting to be posted and I just can't find the time to do it. Well today is the day. I can't promise much but here's one!

I'm 29... been driving for 13 years and just a few weeks ago had my very first accident. I wasn't hurt and it wasn't my fault, but I still feel like my perfect record is tainted. Here is the culprit:

(yes, I was hit by a school bus!)
And here is the damage:
I was minding my own business coming home from work on a Friday when the school bus makes a right hand turn onto the same street I'm driving on in the opposite direction but pulls out into my lane as she's doing it and nails me! The nerve!! It could've been far worse so I am grateful it was minor... but what a pain!!

And the winner is...

Last Saturday I competed in my 3rd 5k run. The last one I ran was 5 years ago at BYU so it has been a little while and it was a lot of fun. My offical time was either 34 minutes and 2 seconds or 35 minutes and 2 seconds... I can't remember which one it was! Here are some pictures of the main event. My goal for the next race... a 10k.... who's in?

Here are the lovely ladies that participated in the run.

We did a little posing post-race

The Puppies!!

Here are a few pictures of the puppies! Some of the pictures are a little blurry because my camera isn't the best at such close range. They were born March 26th between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. I think the sonic boom scared the pups out of her! We have 4 girls and 4 boys, 4 bobtails and 4 long tails. So far, it's been so easy... Jesse does all the work. I am not looking forward to when I have to clean up the poop. Although it's been kind of fun and very interesting taking care of the puppies, we had Sandy fixed on Wednesday - no more puppies in our future.

So...

As I was editing my last post I noticed that I started my story with "so..." Daniel has told me before that I say that word a lot and I scrolled down my page and noticed that the last 4 posts all start with "so..."

So... kind of embarrassing... :)

Sonic Boom...

So I've been meaning to post for quite awhile now, but the days get away from me. This is the first in a few that I would like to post, I don't write extended entries very often but this was a funny story I thought I'd share.

Daniel was out hunting 2 Wednesdays ago (the night Jesse's pups were born - those pictures I will post next) and I wasn't feeling good so I went to bed around 8ish. I was in the state between sleep and conciousness when I was awakened abruptly by someone banging on my bedroom window. No, not a banging - a crash - except it rattled the entire house - either way, I was scared out of my mind and was certain it was someone trying to break in.

Many things then happened at once: 1.) all three dogs, sleeping in bed with me at the time, race outside barking (it was quite comforting to think that if someone really was outside they might be scared off by the dogs) 2.) I, shaking rather violently, grab my 9mm out of my night stand drawer - load it, chamber it (as loud as I could so if someone was listening they would know that I was packing heat) 3.) grab the phone to call Daniel, and 4.) I started crying, of course!

Daniel isn't anywhere near home but says he'll call the Sniders, right down the street. And no more than 45 seconds pass before he is calling me back to inform me it's just the sonic boom from the space shuttle. Holy cow! I was so! relieved and also feeling a bit silly as well. The Sniders called shortly after making sure I was okay - and that Joey could still come by if I wanted.
I tell you what, I've never been a gun person, but I was so glad for this little piece of metal that night! Not that I think I could have really shot anyone, but hopefully they would have taken one look at that thing and gotten out of here!

Nothing like a visit from mom...

So my mom came out to visit me a couple weeks ago. For those of you who live far away from your mothers, I'm sure you'll agree, there is just nothing that compares to having your mom in town. It was so nice! She helped me spend some of my gift cards that had been accumulating from Christmas (and beyond) and we DECORATED! Some of our work is pictured below. I still look up at my plant shelf and smile... I think it looks wonderful! Thanks, mom, for the visit! I missed you the moment you left! I love you!

Our Steer Weston

So we recently just had the fair/rodeo/livestock auction here in Osceola County. In fact, while most people around the world take a day off for president's day, we take the Friday before president's day off for the rodeo and call it Rodeo Day. Whatever... as long as I get a day off school I'm happy! We went to the livestock auction last year and bought a hog. This year Daniel wanted a steer and here he is! We are sharing him with 2 other families to cut the cost which is nice... but don't get too attached... he's dinner for the next year!
