And the winner is...

Last Saturday I competed in my 3rd 5k run. The last one I ran was 5 years ago at BYU so it has been a little while and it was a lot of fun. My offical time was either 34 minutes and 2 seconds or 35 minutes and 2 seconds... I can't remember which one it was! Here are some pictures of the main event. My goal for the next race... a 10k.... who's in?

Here are the lovely ladies that participated in the run.

We did a little posing post-race

The Puppies!!

Here are a few pictures of the puppies! Some of the pictures are a little blurry because my camera isn't the best at such close range. They were born March 26th between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. I think the sonic boom scared the pups out of her! We have 4 girls and 4 boys, 4 bobtails and 4 long tails. So far, it's been so easy... Jesse does all the work. I am not looking forward to when I have to clean up the poop. Although it's been kind of fun and very interesting taking care of the puppies, we had Sandy fixed on Wednesday - no more puppies in our future.

So...

As I was editing my last post I noticed that I started my story with "so..." Daniel has told me before that I say that word a lot and I scrolled down my page and noticed that the last 4 posts all start with "so..."

So... kind of embarrassing... :)

Sonic Boom...

So I've been meaning to post for quite awhile now, but the days get away from me. This is the first in a few that I would like to post, I don't write extended entries very often but this was a funny story I thought I'd share.

Daniel was out hunting 2 Wednesdays ago (the night Jesse's pups were born - those pictures I will post next) and I wasn't feeling good so I went to bed around 8ish. I was in the state between sleep and conciousness when I was awakened abruptly by someone banging on my bedroom window. No, not a banging - a crash - except it rattled the entire house - either way, I was scared out of my mind and was certain it was someone trying to break in.

Many things then happened at once: 1.) all three dogs, sleeping in bed with me at the time, race outside barking (it was quite comforting to think that if someone really was outside they might be scared off by the dogs) 2.) I, shaking rather violently, grab my 9mm out of my night stand drawer - load it, chamber it (as loud as I could so if someone was listening they would know that I was packing heat) 3.) grab the phone to call Daniel, and 4.) I started crying, of course!

Daniel isn't anywhere near home but says he'll call the Sniders, right down the street. And no more than 45 seconds pass before he is calling me back to inform me it's just the sonic boom from the space shuttle. Holy cow! I was so! relieved and also feeling a bit silly as well. The Sniders called shortly after making sure I was okay - and that Joey could still come by if I wanted.
I tell you what, I've never been a gun person, but I was so glad for this little piece of metal that night! Not that I think I could have really shot anyone, but hopefully they would have taken one look at that thing and gotten out of here!
